Flat Roof Replacement
Felt flat roofs tend to fail the same way: the surface cracks in the sun, blisters lift, and the joints open until water sits on the deck and finds its way into the room below.
A replacement starts with the deck. Soft or rotten boards are replaced, then the roof is covered in torch-on felt, a single sheet of Rubbercover EPDM rubber or a Cure It GRP fibreglass system, finished with new trims at the edges and upstands.
Which one suits comes down to the size and outline of the roof, whether people will stand on it, and the details around roof lights, walls and gutters. You are given the reasons for the recommendation.

Felt, Rubber & Fibreglass Roofs
Three flat roof systems, each suited to different roofs. Every one has its own page explaining the work involved.

Felt Roofs
Felt: torch-on layers bonded to the deck, a familiar, cost-effective choice for garages and outbuildings.

Rubber Roofs
EPDM: one sheet with few or no joints, flexible as the building moves, quick to fit on most extensions.

Fibreglass Roofs
GRP: a rigid, joint-free surface that takes foot traffic and moulds around awkward shapes and roof lights.
